Hello all,
Today I have a fun colorful card for you!
I'm not sure if this is a technique but I'll just call it paper piecing lol. Let me know what you think it should be called.
It is so pretty, right?
I just love the colors on the black!
I was inspired by the DSP.
I took 1/2" x 6" strips of cardstock Misty Moonlight, Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, Magenta Madness, Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral and Mango Melody. I glued them diagonally to a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Basic white cardstock, leaving a little gap in between each strip. I cut the overlapping pieces off with my paper trimmer. I cut out a Stitched Rectangle from the Butterfly Bijou DSP.
I adhered both pieces to a Basic Black card base.
For the Stitched Oval and Stitched Rectangle I did the same process,
just adhere the strips straight across a piece of Basic White
I adhered the strips to a piece of Basic White piece cardstock.
This is what the backside looks like.
I did not have to trim the overlapping pieces since I was die cutting.
I die cut the oval, the section to the right of the Oval is where I cut the Stitched Rectangle.
I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink.
I die cut a Basic Black Butterfly and attached it to the Stitched Oval.
I adhered the Oval and Rectangle to the card front using dimensionals.
Don't you just love it?
What do you think?
What would you call this technique?
I'm so glad you stopped by today!
